Dr Michael Iroezindu


Dr Mike Iroezindu is currently a lecturer in infectious diseases and internal medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria. Dr Iroezindu obtained his medical degree from the University of Nigeria. He did his residency at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria and completed fellowships in internal medicine (through the West African College of Physicians) and infectious diseases/immunology (via the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria). He also holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He is an honorary consultant physician at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu. Dr Iroezindu’s research interests include HIV-related opportunistic infections, the link between infections and non-communicable diseases, pulmonary infections (especially tuberculosis and pneumonia), as well as sepsis syndromes. He has over 20 publications in these areas. Dr Iroezindu belongs to a number of national and international professional and research groups. He has won a number of travel and scholarship grants for international conferences/courses, especially through the PATS-MECOR programme.
