Lucinda Manda-Taylor is an associate professor and researcher at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences in Malawi. Since 2013, she has significantly contributed to public health through a strong commitment to understanding and improving Malawi’s health outcomes, mainly through community engagement and participatory research methods.<\/p>\n

Manda-Taylor’s research portfolio covers various topics, including maternal mental health and malaria control strategies, demonstrating her interdisciplinary approach. Her recent publications emphasize the acceptability and ethical considerations of maternal mental health interventions, as well as the importance of community participation in health initiatives. Notable organizations, such as the Wellcome Trust, the Medical Research Council, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the EDCTP, have supported her research, highlighting her strong reputation in the academic community.<\/p>\n

Manda-Taylor’s contributions go beyond research; she actively participates in teaching, training, and capacity-building initiatives for healthcare professionals in Malawi. Dr. Joshua Feyi-Waboso is a dedicated physician with a comprehensive background in research, medical education, and leadership. He completed his medical training at the University of Exeter Medical School from 2016 to 2021, where he also served as President of the Medical Leadership and Management Society. Dr. Feyi-Waboso furthered his expertise with a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Warwick Medical School (2023-2024). His scholarly contributions span public health, ophthalmology, and primary care, with notable publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Feyi-Waboso has extensively researched and published on the significance of community engagement in eye health, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic. His commitment to advancing medical knowledge is demonstrated by his successful grant application to the Royal College of Pathologists, aimed at enhancing health education during the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Enock M. Chisati (PhD, MSc, BEd, Dip.Ed.)<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t <\/div> \n\t\t\t\t

Dr. Enock Chisati is an Associate Professor of Exercise Physiology. He holds a number of positions within and outside KUHeS such as a member of the College of Medicine Research and Ethics Committee (COMREC), member of the Academic Standards and Compliance Commitee (ASCCo), board member of the Malawi Anti- Doping Organisation (MADO) and country contact for Global Observatory for Physical Activity (GoPA), Dr. Chisati is also an Associate Fellow of the International Resident Assessment Instruments (interRAI) network and an Academic Editor of the PLOS ONE journal. Dr. Chisati holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology obtained from the University of Malawi (UNIMA) in 2020 and a MSc in Exercise Physiology and Sports Sciences obtained from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2014. Since 2011 when he joined KUHeS (formerly College of Medicine), Dr. Chisati has held various positions from year coordinator (2014 to 2016), deputy head of department (2014 to 2016) up to head of department (2016 to 2020). Dr. Chisati is an accomplished academic and researcher with a robust portfolio of academic publications and achievements. Dr. Allison<\/span>\u00a0Daniel<\/strong> is a Ph.D. Candidate in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto and Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. She completed a BSc in International Nutrition at the University of British Columbia and an MSc in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto. Since 2015, her research has focused on children with severe acute malnutrition requiring inpatient admission. More specifically, she is interested in the relationships between maternal factors and care practices and child outcomes including development and nutritional status in severely malnourished children. She is the study lead of a cluster-randomized controlled trial at the Moyo Nutritional Rehabilitation and Research Unit evaluating an interactive counselling intervention known as the Kusamala Program.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t <\/div> \n\t\t\t\t <\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t \n\t\t\t\t \n\t\t\t\t <\/figure>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
